Courtney Holder a.k.a DJ Escape
Muzik Hertz
Courtney, better known under his DJ moniker Escape, has been actively involved in music since the early days of the British underground scene. Inspired by his older brothers and early cassette tapes of Mickey Finn and Top Buzz, Escape established himself on the legendary Pirate Radio Stations Kool FM and Silk FM and by getting involved with event promotion in and around the Birmingham area. He established himself further through his own, long running music label, Muzik Hertz. A DJ, Promoter, Producer and Label Owner, Escape is a mainstay of the Drum and Bass internationally as well as in his home town of Birmingham.

Aaron J. Simpson
Research Assistant
Being a passionate filmmaker always looking to work on ventures that aim to make a difference and highlight certain communities, alongside being a big fan of DnB; this project is perfect for me.
DnB for me isn’t just about the music, but the people it has brought me together with. When everyone is dancing you feel part of something much larger and there have been many nights I’ve never wanted to end due to how incredible the atmosphere was in the club.
Therefore to help shed light on the history and everyone involved with making the Birmingham Drum & Bass scene as good as it is, is something I feel very proud to be a part of.

Mya Ward
Event Photographer
During my three years at Film School, I rekindled my love and passion for photography which then led to me creating my own company, MyaWardMedia, where I now showcase my work through gig, unit stills and portrait photography. As I progress in my career as a freelance photographer and filmmaker, I would like to keep combining my love for both music and media, and someday take photos of my favourite artists and bands.
